The Heather Anne Project is named after our founders, Chrislyns, late mother, Heather Anne Scott. She was a known and loved character in the community of Vrygrond, and we want her legacy and passion for helping her people to live on through this project.
Everyday thousands of people are struggling to make ends meet in this area, and the limited financial resources has the unfortunate consequence that many young girls and daughters don’t have access to basic personal hygiene products and toiletries that they need during their period. This furthermore leads to them being sent home from school due to bad smell and inconvenience every month. This is a subject that is not being talked or informed about – The Heather Anne Project wants to change that!

With the generous help from sponsors and donations we are able to provide young girls with access to sanitary products in shape of reusable cotton pads and menstrual cups. This will make sure that these young girls can attend their school every day of the months and free of trouble continue on with their lives, just as everyone deserves.
Our vision is to create a safe space for every young girl in Vrygrond and the surrounding communities, where they can come and seek help, guidance or just a talk with a woman who can relate to the problems of being a young one. Period and personal hygiene should not be a taboo anywhere and we believe in standing together as a community, take each others hands and rise above.

If you want to be a sponsor or make a donation, please send us a message here on Facebook or send us an email at theheatheranneproject@gmail.com. We appreciate every little helping hand!
